A Letter From Delta Zeta

Hello Potential Members! I am so excited that you are considering going through

Recruitment at LSU! This experience has changed my life in so many ways and I can’t wait for you to experience it as well!

When I went through Recruitment, I thought I knew what to expect. Most of my family had been in sororities and they always shared stories of their amazing experiences, but as Recruitment approached, I realized I had no idea what to expect at all. I was so nervous before entering my first house because I didn’t know what the girls would want to talk about or what the rounds were even like. And then all of a sudden girls started bouncing, clapping, and singing, which made me even more nervous and overwhelmed. Right after walking into my first house, all the nerves disappeared and immediately after talking with the first girl, I realized that this wasn’t so scary! It was actually fun getting to meet new people and see the different personalities in all the houses. Recruitment has definitely helped me with my communication skills, and by the end I felt like I could talk to a brick wall!

I loved so many of the houses I went to, but there was something different about Delta Zeta. I could see myself being friends with all the Delta Zeta’s I met at each party. After each round I felt more and more at home in Delta Zeta. My favorite round of Recruitment to this day is Preference. This is such a special round because you get to

see what it really means to be in each sorority and their values. Right when I entered Delta Zeta for Preference, I felt immediately at home and I knew this was where I was meant to be.

Going through Recruitment at LSU was one of the best decisions of my life. I have made so many lifelong friends and lasting memories. Joining a Panhellenic sorority opens so many opportunities to you, even networking for future jobs! This experience has truly changed my life and I hope it can impact yours too!

Some helpful advice: Stay positive and don’t listen to anyone else’s opinions about the different sororities because all that matters is what you think and where you feel at home. Get close with your Gamma Chi and your Gamma Chi Group! Your Gamma Chi is here to help you, especially if you are having a hard time. Always remember, there

are over 1000 girls that are going through the same thing as you! Most importantly, have fun and make the most out of this experience!

I wish you the best of luck at recruitment! Geaux Greek and Geaux Tigers!
